You're very welcome to my website! One of the most important pieces of spiritual advice these days is that we should come 'from the heart, not the head', or allow the intuitive right brain to speak louder than the analytical left brain. I've certainly benefited enormously from training myself to do this much, much more in recent years. And yet perhaps there's a little more to it than that. Sometimes the head comes in handy. As that wonderful out-of-body pioneer Robert Monroe observed: |

'Our prime and fundamental purpose, aside from learning through experience in being human, is to acquire and develop what we label intellect: left brain consciousness. We do not need to act similarly with our right brain abilities because we already have them. We brought them with us... The trick is to get both left and right brain into simultaneous and synchronous action, nudging the left brain more and more into taking part in exploration of the nonphysical as well as the physical. You should never abandon one part of the brain for the other.' (Ultimate Journey, 1994) Balancing these two sides, the head and the heart, the left and right brain, is the objective of the various aspects of my spiritual work... I started out with mainly a left-brained, analytical perspective. That's what led me to develop the idea of RATIONAL SPIRITUALITY, and this surely has an important part to play in providing an evidence-based, spiritual framework for those who are predominantly left-brained too - and who need something grounded to help them rediscover their innate spirituality. But I appreciate that those for whom a spiritual way of life has always been second nature won't feel the same need - even if they may still be happy to see the introduction of a little groundedness! This analytical approach also underlies my various BOOKS OF THE SOUL. Apart from the original ideas of Rational Spirituality itself, and of the holographic soul, If they have any defining characteristic it is perhaps 'researching to the depths many others don't reach' ;-) What this means is I'm often able to shed light on popular spiritual or metaphysical topics, and to indicate with proper sources to what extent they're backed up by the evidence or are just ill-researched myths. These topics might be historical, like crystal skulls, or the Mayan calendar, or Hindu world cycles, or Atlantis and Lemuria, or out-of-place artifacts, or the Giza pyramids, or underwater ruins, or evolution versus creation, or alien intervention, or twelfth planets, and so on. Or they might be more purely spiritual, like reincarnation, or life purpose, or energy attachments, or walk-ins, or the interlife, or quantum mysticism, or experience versus illusion, or conscious creation versus active surrender, and so forth. I also cover the whole issue of 2012 and the current global shift in consciousness. Of course I'm not always right, but at least you can always trace my sources and line of reasoning. Yet it's also been wonderful for me to feel the contrast in starting to come more from the heart too, when it's appropriate. It nearly always will be in personal relationships with lovers and friends, for example, and when you have to make a major decision - as long as you make the effort to attune yourself via regular meditation and so on! Meanwhile from a professional perspective I'm now a qualified REGRESSION THERAPIST and, if I didn't have the right heart-felt intentions and intuitive link to the higher powers we all possess, my ability to help my clients would be severely reduced.I sincerely hope that wherever you're at some parts of my work may enhance, even if only a little bit, your experience of your spiritual journey. Love and blessings, Ian |
